Shawnelle Sanders, freshman, Varsity volleyball
The day of the game, I try my best to stay hydrated. I also substitute any junk food with fruits. The week leading up to the game, the team’s practice schedule usually stays the same and we practice between game days so we are well prepared.
Nikolas Edwards, sophomore, Varsity football
The day of the game, I deleted all social media. This keeps me off of my phone for the day so that I am mentally prepared. The week before the game, I start preparing my body by getting enough sleep, staying hydrated and eating healthy.
Kelly Yetter, junior, Varsity field hockey
The day of the game, I drink plenty of water. In order to mentally prepare for the game, I plan out what I am going to do on the field. I do this by
searching up MAX-PREPS to see how the other teams are playing and understanding how big of a competition the team is. The week leading up to games, my team and I focus more on our offensive plays by doing drills.
Jose Godinez, senior, Cross country
On the days of my races, I stay hydrated and prepared all day by having my running shoes and stretching before the race. Throughout the day of the race I save my energy by staying out of the sun and only being in the shade. The week leading up to a race, specifically Mondays and Wednesdays, is our strength day, which is filled with workouts. Tuesdays and Thursdays are our rest days that keep us rested but also prepare to race on Fridays.
