“My favorite memory is going to graduations, seeing my students graduate and getting to celebrate with them. It is a big deal for them, so it is great to be a part of that and congratulate them, encourage them and wish them well as they go onto the next level.”
“I remember that my students had a Day of the Dead project, they were supposed to make Day of the Dead bread and some of the students forgot to put yeast in their bread. It came out so hard and they were like hockey pucks. I remember that the kids did not care and they still ate it, which was really funny.”
“My favorite memory is every time I have a student come back to me many, many years later and they say ‘Thank you so much for everything you did for me in high school’ and ‘If it were not for you, I would not be where I am at right now.’ Every time that happens, I would say that is my favorite memory.”
“My favorite memory that I have is when I went to Chicago to support Music Machine in their national competition back in 2019. I had a lot of students that were in Music Machine and I thought it would be fun to chaperone; I had never been to a competition in my whole life. I supported them in their performances and it was really nice to be around the students, seeing how they enjoyed themselves and all the effort they put into those performances.”
