I don’t support senior ditch day, but I know that it’s going to happen since it’s a tradition. I feel like the best thing to do in this situation is to have students take responsibility for learning what they missed since they made the decision to participate in senior ditch day.
I don’t really support senior ditch day although I know that it’s a tradition. As an AP teacher, one day missed is equal to two days of instruction missed because of block schedule and AP and IB exams are in May. Missing any day is definitely going to make a huge impact on the readiness of my students.
I don’t support seniors participating in senior ditch day. I think that we have a responsibility to be where we’re supposed to be at. For example, I’m supposed to be here at school teaching, so I’m here. You guys as students have a responsibility to be at school, so you should be here too.
I don’t think they should miss school, but I’m not going to be a teacher that assigns some huge assignment that day. I feel like it’s more based on the choice of the parents. I want to be the teacher and do the curriculum part, but if the parents are going to excuse them and offer them the fun of participating in senior ditch day, then go for it.
