Sarah Hardin, swim and waterpolo senior
Because of my ankle injury I was out of the water for both sports for a good while. It definitely affected my mental health because I stayed at home every day while my friends were at practice swimming. It affected my college recruiting process since my times did not improve because I was out of the water.
Diego Luna, football junior
With my quad contusion, I felt like being on the team was a waste of time, but not being able to train or play. I couldn’t even flex my leg or bend it, and it took months to get it back to where it was before the injury. It was a huge setback for me, and it was super disappointing to watch my team play and not be able to join them.
Mishka Garcia, waterpolo sophmore
I got concussed towards the end of my season, so it didn’t have much impact on me. I wasn’t allowed to play for two weeks. It caused me to miss out on playing in CIFs with my team. This injury more so impacted my academic performance, because of the nature of concussions and the impact it had on my mental state.
Adrian Tapia
I was taken out early from my freshman season and I am never going to get that time back. I missed out on a big part of my freshman sports experience. My muscle strain impacted not only my ability to compete but also my every day life.
