This year we have a lot of better candidates than we did the [last election]. I do feel like [Former President Donald] Trump has a much better audience than [Vice President] Kamala Harris, where she is going to have to build an audience. I personally feel as she does have a lot of good potential and she is a really good candidate, but it might be harder to get her into office because she has been [presented] as much left leaning democratic than [President] Joe Biden, which a lot of people do not really like. However, I do feel like she is a stronger candidate than Joe Biden ever was and I think she has a lot of potential.
The strongest candidate for the presidential election is Kamala Harris. She takes into consideration the rights of women, she notices the [Former President Donald] Trump abortion ban in more than twenty states, and she recognizes that the future of women’s rights in health is in jeopardy. She has also been the only Vice President to step into an abortion clinic. Another strong point she has right now is her grasp of Gen-Z (Generation Z). Her campaign includes Brat Summer from Charli XCX, the coconut tree reference, and a lot of support from viral musicians. As well, her being a woman of color is more relatable than two white men in office. Amongst my peers and social media, Harris has a huge support from women, activists, and those of the LGBTQ+ voters and others who focus on making the future better than Trump’s self-serving campaign.
Although both candidates are really strong I would prefer Trump because coming from a conservative household he aligns to most of my values, especially in law enforcement and border security. As well, there was some ineffectiveness of Kamala Harris to reform the political movements using policing where she defunded [the police] instead of actually giving money to police departments for reformation. Trump is stronger on foreign policies such as where he was the first President to enter into North Korean territory because he wanted peace. Yet, when Harris worked under Biden, she approved the removal of troops in Afghanistan which then led to the oppression of women. As well, removing the XL pipeline led to a domino effect on gas prices. While I might have opinions on this candidate I feel as if I need to do more research on this to make a final conclusion.
I think the strongest candidate is Kamala Harris for the presidential election. From the last Presidential Debate with Trump, Harris clearly represented herself as a symbol of hope and change and clearly targeted herself towards the middle class. The point of the debate is not to get people who are [already] on your side to [stay] on your side; the point is to get people not on your side on your side. She was trying to get the middle class people who were not entirely sure about her to join her side. So I think that she is much stronger than Trump, who was trying to talk about the same thing and would only appeal to people who like him instead of people who do not like him.
