Hello! My name is Aime Chieko Williams and my position for this year’s newspaper is a Staff Artist! This is my first year on staff and I’m so ecstatic to begin my journey in journalism! Outside of newspaper I play instruments such as the bass, the electric guitar, keyboard and ukulele. I’m also a part time art teacher for younger artists who want to build their art portfolios. What I look forward to this year would most likely be getting to really get a sense of what journalism really is. I’ve always been curious about it and I’m glad that I get to dip my toes into the water in this subject. I want to be able to help and be more involved in the BVH community as time passes by through my last years in high school.
A fun fact about myself is that I know how to make sushi!

TBH, I don’t think this section gets enough love. Anyways…
This was a neat little short story. The historical bits make the part that knows that specific part of history (The Rhodesian Bush War) light up , like “Hey, I know that thing.” As for the story itself, I’d say the character herself is pretty interesting and her struggle is quite compelling in a concise way. As the daughter of an academic from a struggling country and an immigrant to London, there is enough of her to understand to get attached!
