On Feb 10, Bonita Vista High (BVH) 120-pound wrestler, team captain and junior Josue Garcia raises his fist after winning a match for the San Diego Section boys' CIF Division II tournament at Orange Glen High. Garcia would go on to place first at the tournament, paving the way for his eventual promotion for the end-of-season statewide California tournament.

On Feb. 2 at the Metro League Championship tournament, Bonita Vista High (BVH) 126 pound wrestler and sophomore Ivan Hernandez runs a double leg takedown on his opponent. Earlier in the season, Hernandez wrestled in the 115 pound weight class, later bulking so that he could compete in the heavier 126 pound weight class.

Barons takedown the Mustangs

On January 11, the Bonita Vista High (BVH) Barons boy's varsity wrestling team faces off against the Hilltop High (HHS) Hulks at a dual meet, with BVH wins against HHS with a score of 57-18. Prior to the first varsity rounds, the team chants "Barons!" as a way to lift spirits.
