I am a senior at Bonita Vista High School and this is my first year on the Crusader staff as a Podcast Manager. When I first heard about newspaper I thought of it as an outlet for my creative bursts of writing, hence why I joined. Since then, I've loved it from the beginning. Outside of newspapers, I am a part of Peer Counseling and plan to participate in a sport.

On Feb. 28, firefighter and paramedic, Taylor Nelson presented to the BVH Health Career Club about his line of work to educate those who may be interested in doing the same. Nelson shows students his father who inspired him to become a firefighter as he is a retired fire captain.

On Oct. 28, a conference was held in honor of Filipino Heritage Month by Otay Ranch High (ORH) with plenty of Filipino related activities and history throughout the event. At the event spoke David Alvarez a political candidate for Chula Vista representing the schools in the district, Alvarez spoke proudly for his support amongst Filipino heritage and culture.
