I am currently a junior and this is my second year on the Crusaders staff. After being a Staff Writer for a year I found joy in sharing others’ stories, but I also found that journalism is more than just writing, and writing is more than just words. I originally joined newspaper for the cheesy, everyone says reason — work on my writing skills. However, I soon learned that being a good writer isn’t just about writing concisely and with perfect grammar. It’s about sharing the unknown, portraying the emotions and most of all, giving a voice to the voiceless. I loved doing this for sports especially, which led me to where I am now, the Co-Sports Editor for the Crusader’s 2021-2022 staff. Outside of my job for the publication, I can be found in the school marching band, the girls water polo and lacrosse teams and a variety of clubs including Peer Counseling, Baron Buddies, Defying Gravity, the Pickwick Book Club, and Sports-Med.
