Lady Barons pioneer a new path
Bonita Vista High (BVH) varsity boys water polo captain and junior Trevor Manaligod (8) uses all of his strength to rocket the ball down the pool. Manaligod has captained the BVH varsity boys water polo team since he was a sophomore, he earned the captain spot as an underclassmen because of his ability to not only be a great player, but a great teammate as well. On Sept. 1, Bonita Vista High (BVH) defensive back, wide receiver, captain and senior Jayden Peterson catches the ball and evades Sweetwater High School (SHS) defenders on his way to the end zone. Peterson went on to score a touchdown on the play, bolstering the Barons lead over SHS.

I am a senior at Bonita Vista High and this is my first year on the Crusader as a Sports Editor. The reason I joined newspaper was to expand my writing abilities, become more involved in the school community, and to make new friends! I applied for Sports Editor because I thoroughly enjoy reporting on sports events and interviewing the players that participate. Outside of the Crusader,  I am a part of BVH’s Varsity Swim Team and Varsity Girls Water Polo Team. I am also the Boys Water Polo Team manager, co-president of BVH’s Hiking Club, and the secretary of our school’s Interact Club. Check out my instagram @aparri.crusader
